MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIP
MEDIC Haiti works to relive the suffering, not only of physical poverty, but of spiritual poverty through the establishment of a spiritually centered, micro-finance institution. Weaving together the “Word” and “Deed” minimizes “toxic charity” and dependency while providing opportunities to the poorest of the poor through a community engagement model of economic development. This model does not subsidize or reward poverty, but rather reinforces business training, responsible lending, productive work, and a personal relationship with God, while building community and promoting the value of education, which creates producers, not beggars. We invest in self-sufficiency that builds and strengthens a sense of community.
The director of MEDIC Haiti is Robert François. Born into a large Christian family (17 children), he worked hard and graduated from accounting school in 2009. Sensing a call to missions, he received training through YWAM. Through cross-cultural mission exposure, he was able to learn four languages and returned to his country, married, and focused on building new young leaders while starting a micro-finance bank with the help of MEDIC International and Montrose Zion UMC.
Over the last three years Robert has 200 revolving loans in place and is working toward building a youth leadership program and business incubator. Make an impact with a trusted, faithful partner in Haiti TODAY!
